Smashbox Soft Lights Highlighter in 'Shimmer'

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts about the Smashbox Blush Rush blusher in Radiance, I ended up buying quite a lot of the Smashbox products the makeup artist at my local counter tried on me. This highlighter being one of them. Before this, I'd never used a highlighter before (I know shock horror). Now, I don't think I could complete my makeup without it!

If you don't know what a highlighter is used for, I'll explain in simple words.

Basically, it does what it says on the tin, it highlights the area you apply it to, drawing it out and making it more prominent. It has the opposite effect of contouring.

I've included a diagram below which shows you the areas. You can also apply it to the inner corners of your eyes to make them appear brighter. 

You don't need to apply it to all of these areas, just the ones you want! I only apply it to my cheekbones, my brow bone, my inner corner and my cupids bow (the part above your lips!)

What I love about the Smashbox highlight is it is the perfect shade, its shimmery without being glittery. It blends beautifully and gives a gorgeous glow to the face. 

Because you're only using a small amount it lasts ages. I've used this every day for over a year now and I've barely made a dent in it!
