I Heart Drugstore Makeup Tag

I was tagged by Charlotte from  http://littlemissclouise.blogspot.co.uk she's one of my favourite bloggers and is such a lovely girl so definitely check her out!

This tag is all about drugstore makeup so let's get into the questions!..

What's your favourite drugstore brand?

Ooh that's a hard one! Probably a tie between Rimmel and Maybelline.

Catrice have quite a lot of products I'm really interested to try. 

What are your favourite face, cheek and lip products?

Face: Probably my foundation. At the minute I'm using the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation and have been really impressed. I've repurchased it twice and I'm about to get my third bottle!

Cheek: I'm loving the Sleek Contour Kit at the minute. It's the cheek kit I use everyday! 

Lip: Hands down the Revlon lip butters! Amaze.

Least favourite product?

This is a hard one too. Lately I haven't really been liking the finish the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder gives. I don't know what it is it just doesn't look good! That's the only product that pops to my head when I think of least favourite! 

Ooh also I bought one Barry M nail polish in a peachy colour and was NOT impressed. It was so sheer it needed a million coats and ended up thick looking and took forever to dry. I won't be trying another.

Best make-up bargain?

When I found out essence were discontinuing their gel liner I was devastated, I managed to find one in the clearance basket for like €1 or something ridiculous like that. I was delighted! Haven't been able to find any since though :(

What's your favourite underdog product?

I would say the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealor.

It's so underrated. I bought it after seeing a well known YouTuber recommend it and I was so impressed. It's amazing, how more people don't rave about it I don't know! 

Over priced drugstore product?

Probably the Max Factor mascaras. That's the only thing I can think of.

Drugstore dupes?

Catrice have a great nude palette that I would call a cheaper Naked palette. Been eyeing this for a while to try now!

Drugstore products that aren't really worth the hype?

I've never gotten the hype with the apocalips by Rimmel. Maybe it's just because I'm not a lipgloss fan.

Whats In My Bag? TAG

A few weeks ago I showed in a post a new bag that I'd gotten and said I would show you all whats in it once enough time has passed to allow things to naturally accumulate.

So, here it is!

Now, granted its actually quite empty as I've only been using it for work the past few weeks and things haven't really built up but anyway!

So first the pink makeup bag holds..well my makeup, duuh. I don't bring this every day as I can't be bothered but if I can fit it, I throw it in there! Next I have a small canister of deodrant just for a quick spray all over during work as it can get hot running around in our uniforms. I have a small bottle of hand sanitiser because I'm quite paranoid about germs and stuff. I also have a few hair clips, because I have long hair its hard to put in a bun so I have to use quite a lot of clips but I like to carry extra just in case some hair escapes! Then I have a pack of chewing gums, the only ones I ever buy are the Extra ones in the turquiose/teal pack. I won't chew any other gum. I always have a bottle of water in my bag too and then of course I have my purse.

My purse is purple and has a snakeskin (I think its snakeskin, I dont know my skins tbh) effect. I've had it at least a year now and its still going strong!

So thats everything in my bag, obviously I also have some womens products in there too but I didn't think anyone wanted to look at tampons so yeah.

Would You Rather? Beauty Edition TAG

So I saw this post on Kayleighs blog Couture Girl and I thought it would be fun to do as I hadn't seen it around before!

Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

All my palettes and eyeshadows. I rarely actually wear eyeshadow which is ridiculous considering the amount I actually have.

 

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

By chop it off do you mean shave it? If you mean chop it up to a bob, I'd rather do that than never cut it again! It will grow back but I can't cope with horrible straggly ends.

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Pink! My everyday blush is pink. 

If you had £1000 to spend, Would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

Clothes! I have enough makeup to be honest, I don't need any more. I do need more clothes though, I find putting outfits together with the ones I have difficult.

Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

Lipstick as eyeliner! You could use an angled brush. I aint having no black or brown lips!

Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

We don't have a sephora here anyway but I'd probably pick MAC, my favourite foundation is from there  and Sephora is no use to me without that!

Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

One eyeshadow colour! Can I cheat and say one eyeshadow group? Like all browns/all greys etc. I usually only use either of those anyway. I love lipstick though so I can't give up that!

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

Its like winter here in Ireland in summer anyway so I'd choose winter clothes in summer!

Would you rather dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Bright! I rarely wear dark nails!

 

Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

My favourite lip product is my MAC lipsticks and my favourite eye product is mascara.. hmm this is a tough one. I don't think I could do my makeup without mascara anyway so I'd probably have to give up my lipstick :(

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or a messy bun?

Messy bun! I only wear my hair in a pony tail at the gym or on lazy days anyway!

Would your rather never being able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

I never use lipgloss anyway, I hate it.

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? or sharpie them in everyday?

Sharpie them in! I can't lose my eyebrows!

Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Easy. Nail polish.

Random Facts About Me i.e A Rant About Things I Hate #1

So a while back this Random Facts tag was floating around and to be honest, I thought it was the most boring thing ever. The facts some people gave made me want to rip my eyeballs out. I could never finish a whole post. So, I decided to do it but try to make it a bit more interesting. THERE'LL BE NO 'MY FAVOURITE COLOUR IS' FACTS HERE PEOPLE. Everyone loves a rant right?
Well here we go..

Confessions of A Beauty Blogger TAG!

1. How many hours a week do you spend writing/editing posts?

To be honest it depends on the type of posts I'm writing. I post every other day but usually I'll pre-write a few posts and schedule them . A few hours at least!  Especially with all the photo taking (I take about 50 of one particular product or eye look then narrow it down to about 5).

2. Are you a spender or a saver?

SPENDER! Money burns a hole in my pocket. If its in my purse or my bank account you can bet it wont be there for long. I honestly think I may be addicted to shopping, I get such a high from buying things. Shopping is like crack. 

3. When is it easiest for you to blog?

Probably mid morning! If I say 'ahh I'll wait until later on' I'll never actually do it. I'll find something else to do instead. Then all day its on my mind that I need to blog. If I get it done in the morning I don't feel guilty for watching telly!

4. What makes writing behind a computer easier?

I don't know, it feels sort of safe. It is a bit daunting posting photos though, I could sit for an hour staring at one photo of myself picking out everything that's wrong with it. It gets to the stage where I decide I look hideous and delete it. There goes my FOTD post :/ 

5. What’s your worst makeup/hair habit?

Brushing my hair with a hairbrush when its wet. I KNOW I KNOW you're supposed to use a comb but to be honest I haven't got the patience for that. My hair is sooooo knotty when its wet that I'd be there for hours. I just grab a hairbrush and basically pull the head off myself with it. 

Use a comb to brush my hair??

6. Whats your one quote I wish the world would live by?

Ummm.. yep..

7. How long do you spend getting ready everyday?

If its just a normal day about half an hour including hair makeup and getting dressed. If Im going on a night out...all day.  I could get ready faster for a night out but I like to take my time and piss around in between watching youtube videos/staring at my twitter timeline.

8. What’s my favourite video on youtube?

I watch far too many youtube videos to have a favourite! I spend more time on youtube than I do watching telly!

9. Who is the blogger that you read that deserves more subscribes than they have?

There are sooo many I'd be here all day, I have a list as long as my arm. I follow some amazing, lovely girls who deserve so much success.

10. What’s the one thing you most excited about in the up and coming year?

I can't wait to go to the Irish Beauty Show! I didn't get to go last year so I'm looking forward to it this year. Also I know quite a few Irish bloggers are going so maybe I'll run into a few! If you're going let me know below or on twitter!

11. Whats your most awkward blogging moment:

I don't think I've had one yet! I've had a blogger who I liked and talked to unfollow me on twitter but I don't think that really counts as awkward. 

12. How long does it take to prep a post?

If its a review I'll use the product for a while, an hour for taking photos and editing then another hour or two actually writing the post. 

13. Are you wearing jeans/pants/skirt of pyjamas right now?

PJS ALL THE WAY

14. What are you most proud of in your life right now?

Completing my college course with honours, sticking to writing regularly on here, not murdering certain people... I'm joking..

Monthly Starsign Makeup Tag : Capricorn

Hi guys so I wanted to let you all know that I'm going to be taking part in a monthly makeup tag over on Fiona's blog La Belle Dame Sans Merci along with Sarah from Allure Cube.

This months star sign was Capricorn and we had to create a look inspired by it.

This is the look I came up with:

Because Capricorn is usually seen as half goat, half fish. I decided to go with a white (the goat) fading to a blue (the fish). The flicked liner was inspired by the horns of the goats.

The colours used in this look came from the Urban Decay Preen and Dangerous Palettes.

Whats Makes You Run Late:

I'm never late. End of. I'm a bit OCD about organisation and time keeping. Like I will freak out if I'm not organised or on time. If I have somewhere to be the next day I will literally count out how many hours/minutes everything I need to do in the morning will take and then give myself about half an hour just incase anything happens and that will tell me what time I need to get up at. If I don't do this I will have a meltdown. I'm so weird.

Nothing fancy haha, just like spagetti, pasta bake easy things like that.

Accent Tag/Challenge - Irish

So I ended up filming an accent tag and I keep pissing myself laughing when I watched it after editing it because I have such a horrendous accent. I actually do not pronounce half the words correctly. I.e water = wa-er.

Also excuse the vampire/voldemort complexion, I filmed this near a window for natural lighting and it looks like I'm sitting infront of the sun! I don't know how other youtubers manage to use natural lighting without being washed out!

Makeup TAG!

So i saw this tag on elleandblair.com and decided to do it as a fun little post in between my usual weekly posts.

1. EEK! You’ve got five minutes to do your makeup for a date. What’s your minimum?
Concealor, blush and mascara!

2. Pick a trend—crazy cat eyeliner, super hot pink blush, or feathered false lashes?
I'm not a fan of crazy eyeliner so definitely the blush, I already overload on blush as it is!

3. If you had to either give up all makeup for two months or give up your skincare for a week, which would you pick?
Skin care for a week!

4. What beauty products are always in your purse?
A pencil eyeliner, a pressed powder and lipgloss!

5. Are there any beauty products that you keep coming back to throughout the years?
No none that I can think of off the top of my head!

6. Smoky eyes or red lips?
Smokey eyes for sure!

7. Lipstick or lipgloss?
Lipstick. I don't really wear gloss that often, I don't like it when my hair sticks to my lips and that always happens when I'm wearing gloss.

8. Are there any products that you never expected to like but ended up loving?
Lipstick! I always thought oh it's for older women but it's definitely not!
